Subsurface Democracy: Decentralizing Survey-Grade Reality Capture for Field Operations
1:15 pm
  • Highlighting how as infrastructure projects grow in complexity, the traditional bottleneck of specialized survey crews for inground as-builts is becoming unsustainable
  • Exploring a paradigm shift in VDC workflows, moving away from high-cost, static laser scanning toward a democratized model of handheld RTK-enabled photogrammetry
  • Showcasing how by integrating hardware, specifically the Emlid Reach RX2, with mobile LiDAR and cloud-based processing platforms, Lemoine has established a scalable framework for capturing underground utilities in real-time
  • Examining the transition from historical documentation methods to modern, high-accuracy workflows, providing a roadmap for training field teams to produce survey-grade digital twins that serve as permanent organizational assets
